There is, I admit, a reason I view one of the only benefits to working in journalism is the stories, followed by free food (this is a universal rule: like college students, offer free food and the journalists will come in droves).
Though I'll warn you, Alabama politicians also happen to be by percentage more crazy than politicians elsewhere.
